My portrait work seeks that moment of recognition, and invites others to stop and see the ones we love, too.

Additional subjects start at $150, depending on portrait size. Detailed backgrounds and custom sizes are quoted individually. Shipping is additional.
Tell me about them. Send some of your favorite photos and tell me a bit about who they are. What do they do that always makes you laugh?
We choose the portrait. We'll confirm the size, reference photos, background, price, and timing.
I sketch the composition. A 50% deposit reserves your commission. I'll make a composition sketch for you to review and approve.
I paint. After the sketch is approved and the remaining balance is paid, I'll begin the final painting. When it's finished, I’ll send you a photo to review before shipping.
The painting comes home. Once you've seen the finished portrait and we're all set, I'll carefully package it and send it home to you.

How long will my portrait take?
Timing varies with the size and complexity of the painting and my current commission schedule. I'll give you an estimated timeline before you commit.
Do you ship?
Yes! Shipping is calculated separately based on the size and destination of the painting. U.S. shipping is straightforward; international shipping may be available depending on the destination and will be quoted individually.
Does my portrait come framed?
Portraits are sold unframed and painted on archival 100% cotton paper. I’m happy to help you figure out what frame size you’ll need.
Can I request changes?
Absolutely! The composition sketch is the best time to request changes before I begin painting. I’ll also send you a photo of the finished portrait before shipping. Because watercolor isn’t easily revised once painted, major changes usually aren’t possible at that stage, but if something seems off, please tell me and we’ll talk about what’s possible.
Do you paint people, too?
Yes! I paint both people and animals. If you have someone in mind and aren’t sure whether your idea will work as a portrait, feel free to ask.
What kind of photos should I send?
Send me a few of your favorites! Clear photos with good lighting are especially helpful, but they don’t need to be professional. Multiple photos can help me understand what your person or creature looks like beyond a single moment.
